The cow is made from 2in. X glued up into panels and the rockers from 3/4 in.,  2 thick, baltic birchIMG_2952.JPG  IMG_2957.JPG  cowrocker6.JPG  She is brush painted with acrylic paint topped with shellac. The paint pattern is free hand painted using pictures of a real cow.

Brilliant job.

Are the holes cut out of the middle of the body for reducing weight?

Cheers

Darn nice indeed with a great glue-up setup and even a solid seat setup on the cow.

Bessie had to be shipped from AZ to WA so I cut the holes to make her as light as possible. It looks like I failed to include a picture of her rocker. The rocker was already boxed up before the cow was painted so I don't have a finished picture. Here's one of her being balanced on the rocker.

Great Looking Cow Rocker and a novel idea. Did you have a plan to set the job out? If so could you advise location or if you could post it to this site and we can scale up from there.

I am currently working on the same cow. My father made these before he passed away. I found his plans and thought it would be cool to build one for me. Mine will not be a rocker. I will use mine as a lawn ornament. I don't even think you can get the plans anymore. I think my father had plans for Bufford the Bull too. Great Job Toynut . Well Done
