Hello. I am a newbe to this forum and looking for some information on a drill press.
I recently picked up a Sears 9 inch bench top drill press. The part number is 137.248030. It is in overall good condition with the exception that there are issues with the motor. It is acting like the motor wants to seize or the brushes might be worn out. Anyway, I went to Sears Parts Direct and it said the motor is no longer available. So, my question is what would be a good replacement motor, that would be pretty much a drop in? Or has anyone rebuilt this motor? Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jim Welsh

I think your going to fond that a new replacement motor will cost more than you paid for the drill press. Drill presses usually don't have brushes. You might try taking the motor to a local repair shop. It might be something simple and cheap to repair.
