I purchased the plan to build the marble drop toy. I cannot locate a supplier for 9/16" dowel called out in the plan. Craftparts.com does not carry that size. Any leads??

It is not uncommon for small retailers and big box retailers to change suppliers and at the same time review previous sales histories prior to restocking.
It looks to me like the 9/16" dowel is one of those products they have elected to drop.
Not a problem ... the 9/16" dowel can be easily substituted with the next size up, being 5/8" or even next size smaller being 1/2".
With the ball size being 1-1/2" and the gap between the peg and the ramp around 1-3/4", changing the dowel stop/deflector diameter will not affect the ball drop.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Thanks for the help Udie. I will go with 1/2 inch.
Did you also know that it seems 9/16" drill and Forstner bits are hard to find? I found one supplier of a 9/16" Forstner bit online and it was a wood tool supplier.  I needed one for a project I was working on and that's what started my search. I figured, no sweat, just run over to the local hardware store and get one! No way! What's with the 9/16" anyway? Most suppliers will jump from 1/2 to 5/8".

Hi Frank,
We have a set of Forstner bits that include a 9/16" bit. A quick search on Rockler's website and they carry a 9/16" bit: http://www.rockler.com/individual-standard-forstner-bits-high-carbon-steel-standard-forstner-bits-3-8-shank.
But as Udie mentioned you can feel confident in substituting a 1/2" or even a 5/8" bit for the 9/16" bit called out in the plan set and everything will still work great!
We'll look forward to seeing photos of your finished Marble Drop!

Hi Cynthia,
On the marble drop, I'm assuming all the rounded corners are 1/2 in radius?
Thanks
