I've been working on this shelf in my spare time and today I finished it and am quite happy with the results. Some of you may have seen this plan on Scrollsaw supply sites and when I first did I knew I had to have it for the ToymakingPlans vehicles I have. The Wings/Large Disc are made from Sassafras that I got a few years ago at a local logging company that sells Kiln dried but rough boards, the main Body,Struts and smaller Disc are Oak and the Wheels and Propeller are Walnut. 3 coats of Satin Polyurethane for finish. As you can see I have an empty spot to fill on the lower wing [smile]. Enjoy my build [thumb] biplaneshelf_opt.jpg

The shelf in the shape of a wood toy biplane is a a fun design that is admired by all of us. Do you have a pattern for this or was this a freehand design?

Thanks so much for the reply John, the pattern I bought from an online company but knowing I'd like it so much I made templates of the pcs. Next week my wife and I are going to a larger wood supply company and I'm going to buy a few boards to make another and then possibly make one from pine and paint that one. As always if I can help you or anyone on this just let me know.
