Well, my very first try at toymaking.

http://www.toymakingplans.com/website/PlanSets/Easy-Basics-Bobsy-Car-Kids.html

It had LOTS of flaws (scroll saw and sanding related), but I´m still happy I did it. My kids LOVE it. According to the plans, Betsy and Bob were supposed to be made out of 1/2" wood, but they would constantly fell of the car so I made them the same thickness as the middle car part so they fit nicely.

Great timing on your post as just yesterday I was thinking of doing this plan and your tip on Betsy and Bob thickness will help me. Oops almost forgot your set looks great and obviously a success.

Love 'em, and only you will really see the flaws, so press forward and keep smiling.

Great work, well done Sir! I seem to remember saying to "someone" that in most cases, only you yourself see the flaws. And anyway, that's how one learns.

Thanks for posting, very good.  [smile]

Great Job for your very first try [thumb]

Now you only have 350 other plans on John site, and thats not even counting the variations of said plans ... lol

I found that doing these wooden toy's for my grand kids makes for a relaxing time for me being out in the garage shop..
