Wondering if anyone has ever used cedar for making toys and if so how did it turn out?  Is cedar even recommended for making toys?

The only time I used Cear was for the  wheels on this tractor I made. Western Cedar is the type used and I must say it was a dream to work with although the first coat of clear poylurethane came out blotchy a little sanding for 2 coats then all evened up on appearance. I'd use it again for how nice it was to cut and work with. That's my only time using it for and type of toy. tractorwagon_opt.jpg

I use a lot of WRC (western red cedar) for my  Intarsia projects and some for the toys but find it is a little too soft.
