Great job Ken! Your paint job looks like glass! Please let us know if you used any special painting techniques. I also can't wait to hear how your customer responds when you hand this beauty to him!
Just a little tidbit: John named this car design in honor of my maiden name, "Ciccarelli". I'd like a full-size one to drive please!

Hi Gary
Thanks for the nice comments about the new car, glad you liked the colors.
I have not gotten around to making one of your pull ducks.  I should have for the show we just went to, but was so busy making a hundred new toys for the show I forgot.
Maybe next time.

Hi Cynthia

Thanks, and I am pleased you like the paint job.

No special techniques for painting.  I used three coats of Krylon white primer, sanding between each coat.  Then painted the red and black with Krylon spray paint, at least two coats of each color with sanding between the 1st and the 2nd.  Note:  I have finally learned never try to put on two much paint at one time.  It works so much better to spray lightly, even if you have to add a third coat, than it does to try and overcoat the first time.

I did do the touch up with Delta Craft paints and used their varnish to cover the dullness of their paints.

I am not sure why, but I have found, for me anyway, I can not spray paint black in the Sun, even on a cool day, so I always spray the Blacks in the shade.  Painting black in the wind is also more of a challenge than any other color.  Why, I have no idea.

I have not waxed this car yet with your beeswax/mineral oil paste yet, but it will be done before I ship it.

I do think John should go buy you one, seeing how he named this model after your maiden name.  Seems the least he could do. [wink]

Thanks Again

This is one class act and it is not the type of work that a beginner does it is starting to look like the work of a master toymaker.
Ken you and your wife and your group that will be making toys for Smiles for Miles is going to open up a new way of look at giving to those less fortunate than those them selves and who knows maybe the work you folks will be doing will bring in new member from the one that you have donated to. Keep Up the Good work!!!! - Don
