This Gran Prix car was made from the plan from toymakingplans.com. It features the center section of Hackberry showing the Quarter Sawn side up. The wheels I made myself with the lathe and are Wormy Chestnut with the Hackberry for the rim. The sides I used the Spruce again and the Fenders are Cherry from a scrap piece of trimwork. I used the Gloss Poly that I used on the previous corvette for the finish.Great plan but the weak spot is the top frame bar above the window shield area but I don't se how to improve that. I hope to get better pics with natural sunlight but I'm still waiting for that, Enjoy my build [smile] cgp3_opt.jpg  cgp2_opt.jpg

Hi Bucko
I like your car, and the use of woods.
When I built mine, I did not notice, or think the window bar was all that weak.
I have sent several out to customers and never had any problems.
Now I will pay better attention to that part.
Look forward to seeing more photos, when you find the sun.
Thanks for sharing.

Bucko - Great looking car and selection of woods used, thanks for the breakdown. I really like it when I read all the different types of wood members use. The list just keeps growing and growing.
Interesting point about the top of the windshield, we have not received any member feed back about that part breaking but will take a closer look at it, thanks for the feedback.
