How do you all like to cut out artwork for mod podge products? I'm thinking of making the playtime pet buddies. The art is slightly smaller than the puzzle pieces so it's probably best to cut the piece and then apply the art. But how to cut the art neatly? Scissors, knife?

Thanks.

You ask an important question. If you look closely, the fine line around the images is for the blade to follow. The set is planned so it will have a white line around each image as part of the final design. Just keep the blade right against the outside of the line.

Before sawing to shape, I glue the images directly onto the wood and let the permanent spray adhesive dry for a few miinutes. I then spray a coat of clear directly onto the images and let that dry. This protects the image while sawing. MDF is an ideal material for this project.

Next, I scroll saw the image to shape, sand the edges and add a couple of more coats of spray-on clear as a protection against scuffing.

Thanks John. I’ll give it a go, Have to cut carefully and not go inside the line!
