My first batch of Play Pals minus the big rig.  I used little bits of scrap wood and MDF I had in the shop to make all of these.  The wheels were purchased at Hobby Lobby and the dowels at Lowe's.  All of them are painted 2 or 3 times, sanded between coats with 320 then finished with 2 coats of spray gloss.  I made a double wide bat car, pickup truck, coupe and mini van that is also extra long (notice the 5 windows).  Sort of looks like a school bus.
Very fun to make and I'm sure the kids who receive them (I'm donating them) will enjoy them.

Paul (pdaunno) - Well my friend, your first batch looks like an excellent batch. [thumb]
Did you hand brush the colours using craft paints?
You colour selection and finish looks great and I like the mods.
It is endless what you can do to modify and enhance the look of the Play Pals.

Udie - yes I did hand brush with craft paints.  It's very time consuming and I'm a pretty slow painter so going forward I will look into spraying instead.

Great Job Paul
I always like it when people take the extra time to paint the ends of the axles.  Adds a nice touch.
Being a slow painter is not a bad thing if they come out looking as good as yours does.
Are some off your colors Metallic paints?
Spray can speed us the process sometimes, but you always have the issue of over spray. Don't try to cover in one coat, and do the sanding thing between each coat.
Again nice work Paul, we will look forward to seeing what comes next.
