Increased axel length to accommodate addition of hubcaps made from 3/8" dowel caps.

Scroller72 - Excellent job. Wonderful finish on both the truck and low boy trailer.
If members wish to see larger photos go to  Scroller72's "View Member Profile" and select "Albums". The same photos are there but much larger. You can really get a close up view of the project and it's superb finishing.

Wow Scroller72
What a great job.  I went to the View member profile to get a closer look at the truck and the low boy trailer.  Just wonderful workmanship.
When I can cut straight, glue without making a mess, and paint, I want to grow up to be like you.
Very nice.

Hi Al,

You've done us proud! Your Hefty Dump Truck and Lo-Boy Trailer are beautiful. I love the personalized touch! Thank you for sharing your photos.

Can you share any details as to what paint you used, how many coats, did you apply a finishing clear coat etc.? Your painting skills are top notch!

Hi Cynthia,
Thank you for the nice comments.  You asked me about materials and paint finishes.
I used pine to make the truck and trailer.
I use Delta Ceramcoat craft paints, using 2-3 coats, depending on the color,
and I use Delta exterior/interior satin varnish--2 coats--as a finish coat.
I use Aleene's Fast Tack, and Tite Bond glues.  All paints, finishes and glues are non-toxic when dry.
I know the Delta paints and varnish holds up very well under child wear and tear---personal testing with young family members.
