I had to show everyone this I have just taken possession of my dads fretsaw he got it as a christmas present around 1950-51 my dad was 10 or 11 years old. A Hobbies A1 it is in working order other than needing some TLC

IMG_2090.JPG  Can't imagine a 10-11 year old child be bought one of these today, but I will be teaching my grandchildren how to use it

I definately want to  have one of these. Totally  cool and what a treasure. It is also an excellent example of engineering and design. Thanks for sharing!

WOW,
Very cool. I can't even begin to imagine sitting at one of these and doing some of the fret work I have seen some folks turn out.

I do well to turn out what i do in a timely manner with a powered saw.
I guess once you got your legs conditioned you could go for a long time but man getting there must be a ummm chore

We have one of those in our local museum. The museum owner told me that it was used by a returned  World War 2 soldier to help him recover from gas poisoning. I have been given permission to take some blades and try it out as I always wanted one as a boy. Funny that.... I've never grown up!
