I tried several methods of pinning axle pegs after my grandson and QA guy some how managed to get one out. I have settled on using the pins because they are quick and easy but mostly because I can use them on a finished surface with a minimal amount of damage.

They are 23 gauge pins. The pinner is set to ever so slightly recess the pins. My Haitachi pinner has a soft tip that pads the surface. so it doesn't get mared.
