I made these for my grandson for Christmas and a few to sell.

The fuselage is oak, and the Wings are Walnut.

I made the Cessna from salvaged wood. There were several nail holes in it that I drilled out and filled with a dowel.

Contrasting wood looks great if you have it. I think I would rather have maple than oak but oak was what I had. I think a light colored piece of poplar and and some dark colored poplar for the wings would look good.
