I was delivered a pile of timber yesterday from an old pergola which was taken down by a local gardener. This is just some of it

Good score Ian.
Just watch for nails.
I've got a low cost metal detector - wand, which I use before running any salvaged lumber thru my board thickness planer.

That being said - I bought some walnut from the saw mill, planned it and found a bullet in the wood.
Didn't even think to use the metal detector on it.
First time this every happened to me.
Here's the link to my Forum post - Bullet

That's a beautiful grain. What species of wood is it?

I do have a metal detector i will have to dig it out. Most of the timber was screwed together and have managed to get most out, those that snapped off i have ringed with a silver marker so i dont forget about them.

Love the bullet find [smile]
