PawPawRay - Your cartoon train bank looks great, and I love the colours as well as the eyes and smile. There are so many things you can turn into a see-thru bank. Animal puzzles are another great collection of toys with excellent painting and cuts.  These might be a great craft sale item as well as you bank. Here in Canada the penny no longer exists in our currency.

Recently there has been a few post about how to paint toys.
Could you spend a few minutes and tell our members/guest what paints you used and your method of preparing the wood for painting -that would be great.

The train bank is from Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts  Holiday 2008 issue 33.The pattern and instruction  and paint suggestion were included in that issue.  Used Mod Podge matte for a primer and Latex paint bought at Hobby Lobby.  Used suggestions found on this forum to paint.  2 coats primer, 3 coats paint sanding between, then 2 coats sealer.  I used jiggle eyes fro  H.L instead of the ones they suggested.
I got the pattern for the puzzles from free sites all across the web.
