Check out the colors in these wooden toy car bodies.

Even the yellow is one coat of color. The only ones that need another coat are the two green cars. I thinned the paint a bit too much. These are made from pine.

How does the white shellac primer differ from a white acrylic base coat? Curious.

Bods tojust about any thing, sands easy, and the big thing is that it will seal anything you are likely to encounter on wood or a wood product. Seals chared wood. It dries very fast. At room temperatures and 50% or lower humidity it will dry in minutes.

I have never liked any of the acrylic primers I have tried. Mostly because they gum up my sand paper and need a long drying time.

I can prime sand and paint in the same day.

Absolutely beautiful work and photo. Thanks for sharing your experience with shellac primer. It is a magical material and an oldy but goodie!

I use an airbrush or brush depending on conditions. Clean up is done with denatured alcohol.

I suggest a test run before painting anything complicated.  A Play Pal is useful for testing or learning how to paint.  If it works, you have another toy. If not, you're not out much.
